Cancer Awareness

The Wellbeing for Life Service raises awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast, lung, bowel and cervical cancer.

We also promote and encourage people to attend their breast and cervical screening appointments, and take part in the bowel cancer screening programme.

With 1 in 2 people developing cancer in their lifetime, it’s important to know what to look out for and act early.

Our team deliver regular information stands throughout the year; chatting to members of the community about signs, symptoms and screening. We do this in a variety of local community settings.

It is important to know your own body and know what’s normal for you; this way you can detect any changes early. We always recommend that you see your GP straight away if you find anything abnormal for you. Early detection saves lives.

We all appreciate how difficult it is to talk about cancer, but our friendly staff are happy to help with any questions. We can even put you in touch with other services that may be able to support you in different ways
